  • How do babies and toddlers benefit from music class?

Scientists tell us that infants are born with billions of nerve cells and a nearly unlimited potential for connections between those nerve cells. Every time an infant has a sensory experience, neural pathways are formed. The greater the number of neural pathways, the greater the brain power. Rich sensory environments are vital to the brain development of infants.

In Kindermusik, we dance in a social setting where small children can begin to understand and anticipate patterns, which preps their brains for math and musical theory. We play with steady beat, which underlies our ability to pick up the pattern of language. The bonding and comforting activities we show you in class help you and your child work through all the natural stresses that occur with growing and developing. Music increases coordination and balance, promotes literacy and language, cultivates listening skills, and encourages delightful and rewarding interaction with your child!

  • How Does Kindermusik Benefit Parents?

  • Can I pay by the class or drop in?

No. Kindermusik with Luanne is a semester based format. Our research-driven curriculum is designed to benefit you and your child through consistent attendance. The more classes and semesters you attend, the more the benefit.

  • Is Kindermusik a good investment?

  • Can I come to a Free Preview class?

 All new families are offered their first class FREE.  This way you can see if our teaching style and the Kindermusik program are a good fit for your family.  Through your participation you will join an established class with children who are familiar with the routines and rituals of our class structure.  This will give you a good idea of what you can expect from your child once they are comfortable in our class setting.   • Do I participate in the class with my child?

Yes! Parents play a very important role in any Kindermusik class.  Our classes are specifically designed to foster parent-child bonding and to honor the important role that YOU have in your child's development. During your involvement in class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model.  It is not uncommon for a child to attend for several weeks before feeling comfortable in class. Don't be discouraged - what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The understanding and consistency of the parent or carer in class and at home are key to facilitating musical learning and growth.

In Young Child and Preschool classes, the children are in class with the teacher for 45 minutes and then the parents and siblings attend the last 15 minutes. We will share our fun activities together and make sure everyone understands their homework assignment.

  • How much are Kindermusik classes?

Please check out this link for pricing.  When you enroll, we provide you with an education program that includes tuition, resources and materials that you need to enjoy the classes in our studio and at home.  Curriculum is divided into themed units with digital music and materials included.

Are there any discounts for siblings? - For families with more than 1 child attending classes, a sibling discount will be applied to the tuition of the younger attending child(ren) attending the same class.

  • What happens if we have to miss a class?

Luanne is committed to providing a class experience that is safe and healthy for your family.  If you are unable to attend your class, please let us know as soon as you are able. Provided there is space in a class, you may attend a makeup class at any one of our other scheduled classes for your age group if available.

  • Do you have a 'happy and healthy' policy?

We will miss you if you need to skip a class, but we appreciate your consideration of the health of other children, parents and your educator by staying home if you or your child is unwell.

  • Is this a class that would work well for a wiggly and on the go child?

Children are NOT required to sit still in class.  We do try to encourage safe movements in class so no one gets hurt, but we encourage children to move about freely as their bodies need. That said, there are lots of opportunities for high energy movement (jumping, dancing, spinning, etc. ) and many opportunities for your active child to learn about listening and appropriate quiet times.
