Policies Regarding Kindermusik
1.
Choosing a
Class—The age
recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been
carefully constructed to best group children in an age and
developmentally appropriate way. Therefore, it is important that
your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the
semester for the class in which you are enrolling. If you have
concerns about your child’s success in a particular age range, I
am happy to discuss your child’s needs and to work with you to
place him/her
in the class best suited for him/her.
Also see, Ages and
Stages: What level is best for my child.
2.
Register Early—
Although you may join our classes at any time, please register
early since class sizes are limited and many fill quickly.
Registering at least three weeks before the semester begins also
ensures that I will have your child’s materials for you at your
first class. If you enroll after the semester begins, tuition
will
be pro-rated accordingly. A registration form and payment must be
received before enrollment can be confirmed.
3. Refunds—Tuition refunds or credit vouchers may be
given if there are extenuating circumstances requiring
withdrawal from class. All refund requests will be
considered on an individual basis.
I'll
refund everything but materials if a student is unsatisfied
after
attending 5 CONSECUTIVE classes.
4.
Make-up
classes—Classes
will be made up in the event of teacher illness or inclement
weather. I will notify you of the cancellation and the scheduled
make-up day. You may also attend another class, but please
check for availability of space first.
5.
Non-enrolled
Siblings—Due
to limited class sizes and the delicacy of the younger class
settings non-enrolled siblings are only allowed on an emergency
basis.
6.
All policies are subject to change without notice.
Making the Most of Kindermusik
Class
-
Please arrive
approximately 5 minutes before your scheduled class time.
This permits you time to settle belongings, handle before class
‘potty runs’ or diaper changes, and allows your child time to
settle in. If you must arrive after class begins, please enter
quietly and join the class, so as not to distract from the
lesson.
-
Please remove your child’s shoes and your own when entering the
classroom. Socks are required except for Village class
babies.
-
Food, drinks and toys are not permitted in the classroom.
Bottles or nursing are permitted in Village classes only;
please no sippy cups.
-
Come prepared to
participate!
You are a vital part of this class and your child’s joyful music
making. Please do not talk with other adults during class—there
is gathering time at the beginning of each class for this, but
conversation during class disrupts the group and deprives your
child of their partner.
-
Turn off all cell phones and pagers during class!
-
Please do not attend Kindermusik if your child is ill—fever,
contagious cough or obviously unwell. This includes siblings
who are home sick from school.
-
You and your child will enormously benefit from the Kindermusik
experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home
Materials. Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week
makes all the difference in a child’s comfort and participation
in the classroom. The Kindermusik experience is ideally
10% class time and 90% experiencing the activities at home.
-
Please do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail or telephone if I
can be of further help. I look forward to having you and your
child join us for a great semester of Kindermusik classes!
Musically Yours,
Luanne Kauppila
