Kindermusik Imagine That!
is
designed for active, energetic, enthusiastic and imaginative 3 1/2 to 5
year-olds and encourages socialization, sharing, and participating in
group activities. Singing becomes a focus for enhancing the
preschooler’s vocal development as his/her expressive language is just
beginning to emerge. Pretend play activities are integrated with music,
vocal development, storytelling, movement and literature to capture your
child’s immense potential to learn and to encourage his/her creativity and
individuality. Parents are invited to participate in the last 15 minutes
for Sharing Time of the 45-minute class.
Mason has enjoyed
being in your music class. He especially liked "mailing letters," the
zoom song, and the fun stamps at the end of each class. Thank you
for creating a positive environment for young children to discover their
musical talents. The class was super.

Joyful and Memorable Learning
Through Play!
Guided and pretend play
activities are a critical part of the musical learning, growth and
development that happens in the Kindermusik classroom and at home
each week as you utilize your At Home Materials. Nothing happens
in isolation for your 3 1/2-5 year old. Children have to use "all
systems" when they learn. Play is a critical part of an integrated
curriculum because it provides for all areas of development.
Here are some specific ways
that play activities, powered by music and the Kindermusik
environment, could affect your 3 1/2 -5 year old:
- Play fosters a positive self-concept.
- Play promotes language development.
- Play stimulates thinking and
problem-solving.
- Play enables children to understand the
world.
- Play is a forum for children to express
and resolve their feelings.
- Play enhances creativity.
- Play develops social skills and social
thinking.
Our experience with Kindermusik has been
wonderful. Alyssa looks forward to each class. I have
appreciated the listening skills she has gained. She is also more
comfortable socializing with others and has more confidence around
non-family members. I value the the exposure to music in such a
positive and fun way. Alyssa has most enjoyed playing all kinds of
different instruments and dancing to music. Wendy (5 year old
daughter)

You Don't Need Technology to
Enjoy Music
It is important to get back to basics, and find a
balance in listening to music and creating music. Family music
making is almost a thing of the past: such as sitting around the piano
having a good ole fashion 'sing-a-long' and using one's voice and
imagination.
If one only listens passively, one's innate ability to create and
enjoy a variety of types of music is greatly limited. Even younger
children have the ability to appreciate and create music; in fact by age
7, much of your child's sensory and cognitive development occurs.
In Kindermusik, a child is introduced to music as being a
natural and enjoyable part of their total development. A
Kindermusik child has exposure to music in a variety of ways, using
simple
instruments to create music of many rhythms, timbres, volumes and
moving, singing, etc. Many educators have indorsed Kindermusik since its
inception in 1976; the Kindermusik program has expanded in the
U.S., Canada and other countries and has more than 5,000 educators.
Come join in the fun as you
watch your preschooler blossom. The small classroom environment is
the perfect place for your little one to explore and discover their
creativity and imagination.
